His first TV shoot was a leading role in an episode for ARD in Dr. Sommerfeld – News from Bülowbogen. After a stay in New York, he completed his acting training at the Fritz Kirchhoff School in Berlin from 2000 to 2003, graduating with stage maturity.
Since then, Nicolai Tegeler has appeared in numerous television, film and stage roles.
In 2019/2020 Nicolai Tegeler realized the feature film “To the Stars” on his own and in a joint production of Cellophane Films and I like Stories – it ran at various film festivals nationally and internationally. It is his second feature film, but the first he has directed entirely on his own.
The feature film was shown in selected cinemas in Germany and Austria in autumn 2021. In addition, the public broadcaster MDR acquired the license rights for 3 years.
In 2018, he brought the Theatreplay Jedermann to Potsdam in the St. Nikolaikirche. He not only worked as an actor, but also as a producer and was responsible for the artistic direction.
Since 2015 he has been singing the role of Hutchinson Hatch in the radio play series Professor van Dusen, based on Michael Koser, as Klaus Herm’s successor.
In 2021, together with Tobias York, Tegeler founded the film production company I LIKE STORIES GmbH based in Berlin. The aim is the development, implementation and production of fictional film, TV, web and streaming productions – whether as a feature film or as a series.
Since 2019, Tegeler has been moderating the talk format Tegeler meets… on Capital.TV. Here he introduces the viewer to various personalities and their favorite places.
